Responsibilities
Tasks
- Diagnose livestock health issues
- Handling animals
- Monitoring animal health
- Organize tasks to accomplish the work
- Perform animal grooming activities
- Perform livestock feeding
- Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration
- Treat livestock health issues
- Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
- Formulate feeding program
- Maintain livestock performance records
- Maintain quality control and production records
- Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens
- Maintain work records and logs
- Perform general farm duties
- Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops
